The Gordon FamilyThe Queens Hotel and Spa has been under new ownership since July 2006. Nick, Jane and James Gordon already had extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having owned and managed a chain of London restaurants, and were keen to focus on their new acquisition in Bournemouth to help increase the already sterling reputation that The Queens Hotel and Spa has held over the years. The combination of father and son as business partners means that their passion for the hotel to succeed and to be a memorable and professional place to visit has been integral to the tight running of this ship.

In 2006 the Gordon's were also delighted to welcome David Burr as General Manger to the hotel. David has been associated with The Queens Hotel and Spa for more than 20 years. He has extensive knowledge of the industry and a large and loyal client base who continue to come back to The Queens Hotel and Spa for various functions and events year after year.

Another notable member of the team is the Executive Chef Will Summerall. He has been working at The Queens Hotel and Spa for over 20 years and continues to produce food to a very high standard. We pride ourselves on our table d’hote menu and have a restaurant that can cater for up to 220 guests.

The hotel has developed hugely since the take-over in 2006. A large refurbishment programme has been in place which has helped to modernise the bedrooms, bar area, reception and conference facilities. Jane Gordon uses her eye for detail and extensive interior design knowledge to give the hotel a relaxed and friendly feel that appeals to all ages, making The Queens Hotel and Spa a home-from-home experience.

In September 2008 James’s wife, Layla Gordon and his sister, Hollie Gordon came on board to help strengthen the hotel's leadership force. Hollie Gordon has set up and owns the 'Forever Gorgeous' Day Spa and Clinic which launched in August 2009. This gives the hotel another string to its bow as the spa offers a wide selection of specialist treatments and has a team of dedicated therapists who are trained in procedures such as semi permanent makeup and non-surgical face lifts.

Layla Gordon previously worked in press and online media in London for 8 years, most notably spending 4 years at Microsoft working in one of the most prestigious sales teams in the world. Her roles mainly include business networking throughout Dorset, driving online sales, strategies for press and organising high-profile events to draw the local and business community to the hotel.

The Queens Hotel and Spa prides itself on its relaxed and friendly but professional atmosphere. Staff retention is extremely good and so guests returning year after year will often be greeted and served by the same friendly and happy staff. This, coupled with our very large conference facilities that can hold up to 450 delegates, is what make The Queens Hotel and Spa stand out from the crowd.

On July 17th 2010 The Queens Hotel and Spa will celebrate its 4th year under ownership by the Gordon family; a team of 5 strong, professional and passionate people who have firmly placed this hotel on the map and who can offer a home-from-home experience that has everything a hotel needs to keep you coming back for more.
