Don’t worry, it’ll get easier. Most schools make an announcement in assembly calling for volunteers to be on the prom committee. Great; there’s loads of excitement and lots of interest. Then the first meeting happens, and tonnes of people turn up with loads of ideas and it is chaotic!

There’s a real difference between the people who will turn up at the first meeting and the people who will be at the last meeting: commitment. Not everyone at the volunteers meeting will understand how much work is involved, or that it’s not all fun ideas and putting up balloons. The thing is, you won’t know who the really great committee members are at this point. So how do you deal with a room of excited people all wanting to contribute?

Ask for a show of hands for particular tasks/roles

Once you have a smaller group of committed volunteers, there are three critical decisions you need to make:

• Do you have a formal Prom committee with defined roles?
• What is the date of the Prom?
• What is the Prom theme?

Enjoy your afternoon at leisure or return at 3pm for our film showing & complimentary hot chocolate & heart cup-cakes.

6.30pm
Meet in the Garden Lounge for your Valentine’s cocktail, followed by a four-course candlelit dinner whilst being entertained by our resident pianist, Andy Wilcocks. Our evening continues with coffee & petit fours, followed by live entertainment in the Purbeck Suite until 11.30pm.

The Queens Hotel & Spa has catered for coach tours and groups for many years with companies like Fishwicks, Worthing and Flagship Coaches, Woods, Swan Tours, Saga and Galloways returning several times a year, year in, year out. There are 109 ensuite bedrooms available and 6 single bedrooms which can be offered to your party with no single supplement. The supplement per night over and above 6 bedrooms for single occupancy is £15.00 per night, please note these are good sized double or twin bedrooms for single occupancy. The location of the Hotel is excellent, on the prestigious East Cliff, with easy access to the sea front and town centre. There is a cliff lift minutes from the Hotel, with access direct to the beach.
