Family Holiday Bournemouth
Friday, 22nd July the start of the school summer holidays. What will you as a family do to keep your children occupied for your family holiday? Children absolutely love the beach, my best memories of my two sons being happy are when we rented a beach hut on Bournemouth Beach. The good old fashioned beach hut is still has a big part to play in family holidays. Bournemouth have hundreds of huts lining the promenade, painted gaily in primary colours. Children dash to and fro, from the huts to the sand and the sea. Hundreds of sandcastles in an amazing range of sizes and designs spring from the sand, many happy Dads can be seen, digging and creating with their offspring. A moat that fills up when the tide comes rushing in is a popular feature.
Mums sit and relax, pop the kettle on in the hut when they fancy a cuppa. No paper cups with horrible weak tea when you have a beach hut. Position is important, although you are never far from the public conveniences it is a good idea to check out how far for any emergencies. The same goes for the ice cream kiosk. Don’t risk the lollies and ice creams melting on a blisteringly hot day with a long trek back to the hut.
Bournemouth beaches are well served by the RNLI Lifeguards, there are many posts and the lifeguards patrol the promenades, sand and the water in a craft between their posts.
