Visitor Charge

A Business improvement District visitor charge has been introduced for Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Accommodation providers and will be applicable from the 1 st July.

It is similar to a city tax you may find when travelling abroad and is not included in your booking at present. The “Visitor Charge” will be added to your bill at the rate of £2.40 per room, per night (inc VAT) for all rooms booked. For any bookings where the 1 st July 2024 falls during the stay, the “Visitor Charge” will be applicable to all remaining room nights from the 1 st July onwards.

The visitor charge is payable upon check in.

All money collected will be spent on placemaking which will help us continue to provide green, clean and safe places. It will help fund and create events for our conurbation like the Air Festival, Arts by the Sea, Poole Christmas Maritime and Christmas Tree Wonderland just to mention a few, which we hope guests can enjoy all year round. We thank you in advance for your understanding and hope that you join us in welcoming this innovative initiative which will enable us to enhance the visitor experience and allow the tourism and hospitality industry to thrive in the BCP area.

If you require and further information, please do not hesitate to ask and we will endeavour to get the answers for you. Alternatively, please visit: www.bcpabid.co.uk
