Switch Management purchases Bournemouth’s Queens Hotel & Spa

The Queens Hotel & Spa in Bournemouth has been acquired by Switch Management Ltd, a Birmingham-based asset management company, which has purchased the seaside property for an undisclosed sum.

This marks the first hotel acquisition for Switch, which currently manages a number of premium hospitality assets across the Midlands. These include Birmingham’s only major independent hotel, Park Regis; the four-star aparthotel Birmingham, which opened in 2023; and luxury serviced apartments at St Martin’s Place.

Boasting a prime coastal location, Queens Hotel & Spa is situated on East Cliff, just a few minutes’ walk from Bournemouth’s Blue Flag beaches and popular visitor attractions, making it the perfect base for guests to explore the natural beauty of the local area.

With 109 ensuite rooms and suites, hotel facilities include an indoor swimming pool, spa and wellness centre, garden and an on-site restaurant & bar. The site is also an established events venue, with indoor and outdoor spaces catering for up to 200 guests.

This acquisition has secured the long-term future of the property and its 68 employees, following the hotel’s entry into administration in March 2024.

Under its new ownership, Switch will invest in significant short and long-term redevelopment projects to reposition the hotel in line with its award-winning hospitality management portfolio, with a focus on enhancing its weddings and corporate events proposition.
